Just like their main four parks, Disney’s water parks offer dining, attractions, and theming above the rest. Water parks in Disney World aren’t just tubes and slides, they’re so much more!

When Disney decided to add water parks, they went big! Instead of one, they added two, and instead of just a park filled with water based attractions they created new worlds with stories behind every single corner. But why add two water parks? Would you believe these water parks are completely different in every way from themes to actual attractions. One features raft rides and a massive wave pool while the other is a summer winter wonderland with water slides galore. Want to learn more?

The first of the water parks to appear was Typhoon lagoon. The story goes that a typhoon wrecked havoc on a pristine tropical paradise sending ships, fishing gear, and more flying everywhere. The remains of the island creates a not so perfect paradise for guests to dodge waves in their massive wave pool, ride down twists and turns in individual or family size tubes and rafts, and coast down a lazy river.

Meanwhile, over at Blizzard Beach a freak snowstorm created Florida’s first ski resort. In the Florida heat, the snow didn’t last long leaving behind slush and snow-less ski slopes and lifts for guests to enjoy. With slides of all shapes and heights, guests can zip down into the melting snow below, balance across floating ice caps, take a ride on a zip line, and even take a relaxing spin around the lazy river.

The best part, these parks are made with the whole family in mind. From adults to babies, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. And being a frequent visitor to the kiddie sections myself, I can tell you the attractions for the smallest guests will not disappoint. With their own splash zones and water slides, they’ll safely be able to explore a water land that’s their size!

There’s so much fun to be had on Disney property among just the theme parks, so when you add the water parks there’s fun to fill every second of every day. Don’t take my word for it though, find out for yourself! It’s so easy to head to both water parks during your trip by just adding the option onto your package!
